Meridyen is adding another to its social responsibility projects with the vision of carrying information to every segment of society.

The Meridyen Association is preparing to contribute at an institutional level to the “Internet Library Project” which has been designed by the Boğaziçi Visually Impaired Technology Labs (GETEM) in order to help the visually impaired access for sources of information.

GETEM, which set out in 2006 with the slogan “there is no barrier to attaining knowledge”, and has been continuing its work ever since, aims to help not only the visually impaired who cannot adequately access written sources, but those who are otherwise impaired as well. In the library which contains works predominantly in Turkish and English, there are storybooks, novels, poetry books, as well as books, articles and notes that are part of the curriculum of Turkish universities, lesson and conference notes and scientific articles and books.

As Meridyen, in order to increase the support and prevalance we will be giving to the project, we expect the help of you — our members and volunteers!
