Objectives

The general aims of the Meridyen Association aid scholarships are to encourage qualitative work in the social sciences in Turkey and to contribute to the advancement of the current level of academic studies in the field.

Accordingly, the grants are open to qualified individuals for postgraduate, doctoral and post-doctoral degrees that are believed to serve the cause of academic knowledge in Turkey and universal science.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR POSTGRADUATE APPLICATIONS

   Applicant biography

   Verification of postgraduate program enrollment from the applicant’s institution

   Minimum undergraduate and master’s GPAs of 3.00/4 or 76.66/100, depending on the respective universities’ grading systems

   Full transcripts from undergraduate and graduate studies (original or certified copies)

   Certification of proficiency in the foreign language applicable to the program of planned postgraduate study (minimum 550 (213) TOEFL; 80 on KPDS, ÜDS) or documentation of training at an institution that employs the applicant’s planned research language

   Detailed information about the applicant’s planned research, including topic of study, hypothesis, method, estimated contribution of the work to the literature, study plan, calendar, estimated expense budget

   Amount and sources of any other funding the applicant will receive

   Two letters of recommendation

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR DOCTORAL AID

   Applicant biography and list of publications

   Institutional verification of PhD program enrollment

   Minimum undergraduate and master’s GPAs of 3.00/4 or 76.66/100, depending on the respective universities’ grading systems

   Full transcripts from Bachelor’s and Master’s level studies (original or certified copies)

   Certification of proficiency in the foreign language applicable to the program of planned doctoral study (minimum 550 (213) TOEFL; 80 on KPDS, ÜDS) or documentation of training at an institution that employs the applicant’s planned research language

   Detailed information about the research (topic of study, hypothesis, method, contribution of the work to literature, study plan, calendar, estimated expense budget)

   For applicants enrolled in a national university who wish to travel abroad as a researcher, an invitation from the institution where research is to be
conducted

   Amount and sources of any other funding the applicant will receive

   Two letters of recommendation

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR POST-DOCTORAL AID

   Applicant biography and list of publications

   PhD diploma

   Certification of proficiency in the foreign language applicable to the country in which study is to take place (minimum 550 (213) TOEFL; 80 on KPDS, ÜDS); or documentation of training at an institution that employs the applicant’s planned research language

   Detailed information about the applicant’s planned research, including topic of study, hypothesis, method, estimated contribution of the work to the literature, study plan, calendar, estimated expense budget

   Invitation from the institution where research is to be conducted

   Amount and sources of any other funding the applicant will receive

   Two letters of recommendation
